The ConnectCRE.com overhaul showcased my role as a Creative Director, merging design innovation, technical skills, and project leadership. I led the site's ground-up redesign, introducing a dynamic, story-driven layout with dual access points for content. My hands-on approach involved crafting the site's architecture using PHP, CSS, HTML, and JavaScript, focusing on a user-centric experience. This project highlighted my comprehensive management skills, from concept to completion, enhancing user engagement and illustrating the impact of integrated creative and technical expertise.

The development of Hub Pages was strategically aligned with SEO objectives, catering specifically to the needs of a regionally-focused business. These pages functioned as pivotal entry points, directing users towards various narratives. Essential components of these pages included:

- Regularly updated news content to ensure relevance and engagement.
- A prominently featured news section to highlight key stories.
- Integration of HubSpot forms to facilitate user sign-ups and engagement.
- Dynamic event listings that reflect the latest happenings.
- Strategically placed advertising spaces to optimize revenue opportunities.
- A showcase of ConnectCRE's services and offerings for easy access.
- Stories focused on specific sub-markets to cater to niche interests.
- A dedicated Connect CREative section to highlight innovative projects and ideas.

Leveraging Advanced Custom Fields and PHP, I engineered a comprehensive management system for event listings. This system automatically updated the event roster across all Hub Pages and in the navigation menu, ensuring the most current events were always front and center while the older ones were cycled out.

Furthermore, I implemented a versatile ad placement strategy, allowing advertisements to be seamlessly integrated not only on Hub Pages but also within story pages, menus, and search results. This required a deep dive into database management, PHP, HTML, and an in-depth understanding of WordPress functionalities, culminating in a streamlined process for ad management that significantly enhanced operational efficiency for the ad editorial team.

The development of Story Pages posed unique challenges, particularly in creating a dynamic user experience tailored to the origin of the user's journey within the Connect network. The crux of the solution involved the implementation of session cookies, which were programmed to capture and relay the user's entry point—be it from a Market or Sector page. This crucial piece of information then dictated the customization of the page, influencing the display of ads, HubSpot forms, related stories, and other elements to align with the specific context of the user's navigation.

This task demanded a sophisticated application of PHP and a deep understanding of WordPress and database management to achieve the desired level of customization and user-centric design.

To facilitate this intricate customization, I extensively utilized Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), creating a multitude of ACF controls tailored to various aspects of the site. Each segment of the website, from headers and footers to sidebars, was equipped with its dedicated control, ensuring that every design element could be finely tuned. This level of detail extended to providing ConnectCRE's editorial team with an intuitive and seamless interface, allowing them to manage content efficiently and effectively, thus playing a pivotal role in the project's success.
